The Permanent Representation of Belgium in Geneva represents, defends and advances the positions and interests of Belgium towards the numerous United Nations and other international organizations based in Geneva. These bodies cover a wide array of issues ranging from peace, security and disarmament, over economic, trade, development and environment subjects, to human rights and democracy related themes. Our Permanent Mission does more than ensuring the proper flow of information between the Belgian authorities and the Geneva-based organizations. It is tasked with fostering the mutual agenda which Belgium shares with these organizations. The Permanent Representation has the policy of promoting efficient multilateralism and of strengthening the added value of the activities conducted by these organizations worldwide.
